Interview with Leandro guitarist with OdioSocial

My name is Leandro Sampaio, I am a founding member of the band OdioSocial, a band that celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2020, I live in São Paulo -  Brazil.

I live and breathe punk rock in my daily life and my lifestyle, I like to always be in a punk band t-shirts and keep the look so that the society in which I live knows that I am not a normal human being, musically and culturally.

Here the majority of the population hate punk rock or worse they don't even know about the style.

We do not want to be like the alienated mass that always agree with the imposed rules. However, not all punk can be visual all the time here in Brazil, Here you work a lot and live a little. Many things here are imposed on people, there is no choice, You either do it or you often end up in need.

These are very precarious living conditions, so I say that punk rock is not only in the visual, but also in the thoughts of the individuals, dreams nobody can imprison.

1. First Punk Rock band you ever saw Live? Where/when?

Honestly the first punk band I watched live, I honestly

don't remember it well, but the first ones for sure were the Brazilian punk undergrounds, The bands are: Phobia, Colisão Social, Voz ativa, Esgoto, F.H.C, M.C.O, in short, bands that really are part of the sub-underground in Brazil.

2. First Punk Rock Record you bought? What made you buy it?

First punk rock record, it sure was RAMONES, I didn't actually buy it, and it wasn't an LP either, It was a cassette tape that I made a copy of the LP of a friend of mine.

It sure was RAMONES. Like I said, I didn't buy my first punk record, I borrowed the LP from a friend and made a copy on cassette, this attitude was very common in the old times here in Brazil.

OLHOSECO, Fogo Cruzado, Invasores de Cérebros, Agrotoxico.

5.  Any new bands impressed you and worth a shout out?

The second is called "LEVANTE" and the third is being

produced.

All albums have covers by Brazilian artist Guilherme Bridon, the first two albums you can find on the German label "Break the Silence" We are also releasing a live album, this album is commemorating OdioSocial's 20-year career, the album is called "UNHOLY WARS", 23 songs that go through all the albums and phases of the band during these 20 years.

We also have a tour of Europe in mind, this tour would have been in  April 2020 but due to worldwide PANDEMICS, the tour was postponed.

We still have no date, but as soon as we have the vaccine and everyone is safe to attend concerts we will take this tour !! Hardcore punk is our life !!!!

7. Favourite Punk Rock album?

Favorite album? Actually I don't have a favorite, but I can say that all of RAMONES hahahaha.

Retro-bution of extreme noise terror, Brazilian collections Sp punk volume 1 SUB GRITO SUBURBANO But really, I like punk rock and hardcore punk in general, I support all bands that make real punk.

8. Favourite band to share the stage with?

Favorite bands to share the stage with? They are those who believe in freedom, Those bands that respect the public,

These are the bands that treat all people in the Underground equally. These are the best bands to split the stage with.
